

OLD TOWN—Clinton A, “Clint Brown, 48, a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, son-in-law, friend, and soldier passed away peacefully and entered into Heaven on Thursday November 10, 2011 at his residence in Old Town with his loved ones by his side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born on August 5, 1963, in Bangor, a son of Philip W. and Ginger A. (Perkins) Brown. He grew up in Stillwater and graduated from Old Town High School in 1982. Proud and motivated to serve his country he enlisted in the US Air Force in 1984 where he attended Basic Military Training at Lackland AFB, Texas.
He attended technical training for Power Production at Sheppard AFB, Texas. Upon graduation he was stationed at Loring AFB, ME from February 1985 through February 1987. He was then stationed at Kun Song AFB Korea, from February 1987 through June of 1988. He was transferred to Reese AFB, Texas in June 1988 through January 1990, where he was deployed to Saudi Arabia in 1989 to assist with closing a bed down and Panama in 1989. He separated in September of 1990 and then reenlisted November of 1990 into the Maine Air National Guard. He attended utilities technical training at Sheppard AFB, Texas, in January of 1991, where he graduated as an Honor Graduate. Clinton was deployed to Kirkuk, Iraq in 2005. He had three deployments to Yuma, AZ during 2006, 2007 and 2008 for Operation Jump Start; during the deployment in 2007 he was sent to New Mexico for Operation Mexican Border Fence. Sather AFB, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from July of 2009 through January 2010. Clint was also employed with Brinks and Loomis for the past twenty years.
Clint enjoyed the outdoors and being with family and friends going atv-ing, boating, fishing and hunting in the great Maine woods. He enjoyed time spent at the family camps in Haynesville and Bradley.
He cherished life and never took anything for granted and took every day as being precious. He loved his wife Greta and daughter Briana more than words could ever say and his world evolved around them. A caring man who would help a friend in need, he will always be loved by his family and many friends. Gone too soon and missed so much.
Clint is survived by his loving wife Greta, (Neptune) Brown, his precious daughter Briana Brooklyn Brown, stepson Sterling Neptune of Old Town, his parents Philip and Ginger Brown of Stillwater, mother in law Doreen Neptune of Indian Island, two sisters: Melissa Jordan and husband Bob of Stillwater and Jennifer (Brown) Mullins of Barboursville, VA, sister in law Onawa Hoffman and husband Kyle of Indian Island, brother in law Gary Neptune of Indian Island, maternal grandmother Dorothy Chaison and Ellen Perkins both of Stillwater, his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews’ and many friends.
He was predeceased by his fraternal grandparents Ara and Jennie Brown, his maternal grandfather Leo Perkins, his uncles Carroll “Cappy” Brown and Allan Brown.
Clint will also be missed by his lifelong friends Herbie Buck, Louie Doucette, Dave Nadeau, James Sappier, James Smith, Phil Vellieux, Jon Lee and Tony Damboise. He was also very fond of his Air National Guard military family and was honored to have served with them. Clint appreciated the love and support he received from them throughout his illness.
Clint’s family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Cancer Care of Maine, the 6th floor nurses at EMMC and Hospice of Eastern Maine, Bangor Area Visiting Nurses, the Air National Guard and special neighbor Rod O’Keefe for all the care and support he received.
Friends may call 4-8 PM Tuesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main Street Old Town. A celebration of Clint’s life will be conducted 10 AM Wednesday November 16, 2011 at the Old Town United Methodist Church, Stillwater Ave, Old Town. Burial with full military honors will follow at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Immediately following services at the gravesite, all are invited to the VFW Post #3381 on Water Street for a memorial luncheon.
