

Alton--, Richard Dana Ellis Sr, 67, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 27, 2020. He was born Aug. 06, 1952 the son of Dana P, and Irma (Lincoln) Ellis.
He graduated from Old Town High school before working at the Champion mill in Costigan. He later went on to become owner, operator, and truck driver. Richard was a practical joker all of his life, constantly entertaining his family with pranks and his sense of humor. He was a hardworking, warm, and caring person and would always be there at the ready when anyone needed him. He had many interests and loved being outdoors. He shared them with his children, teaching them fishing, hunting, gardening, and mechanics. He was always busy with a project and known to mow his lawn for hours on end. He was loved by all who knew him and will be remembered as a giving, loving, and generous man.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ellis; two sons, Richard and William; daughter, April; five grandchildren, two great-granddaughters; three brothers, four sisters and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of a funeral, we will be having a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
