Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, completing two tours in Vietnam. He earned both a Bronze Star with Valor Badge and a Purple Heart, honors he carried with quiet pride. He and his wife shared a passion for motorcycles and proudly considered themselves enthusiasts. Together, they traveled all over the country and served as the National Directors of Rider and Education Safety for the Goldwing Road Riders Association for many years.
Arthur was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life: casting a line out on the water, working with his hands in the woodshop, and passing the time with a good game of bingo or a little penny poker. More than anything, he loved being surrounded by his family.
His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him. They were his pride and joy, and he loved every minute he got to spend with them.
Arthur was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Foster; his son, Shawn Foster; his parents, William and Arta Jean Foster, and his two brothers, Tommy and Bill Foster.
He leaves behind his two children, Jeffery Foster (Jackie), and AJ Foster (Dana). He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Allen (Samantha), Shane, Morgan (Mia), Connor (Emily), Skylar, Brianna, and nine great-grandchildren: Hailey, Alyssa, Emily, Madelyn, Lily, Aria, Nova, Sage, and Jayden. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Friendship Church, 21960 Easter Ferry Rd. Elkmont, AL 35620.
