

Beverly Lynn Hammond, 67, of Southaven, MS passed away on March 3, 2025. Mrs. Hammond was born on February 20, 1958, in Corinth, MS to the late Curtis and Essie Cato. In her younger years she worked as a cosmetologist. She spent most of her working life in retail with JC Penney. In her free time, she enjoyed rescuing animals and talking about her grandchildren and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Grandma Bev” to her grandchildren. She also spent a lot of time as an advocate for cancer patients. Mrs. Hammond was a believer in Jesus Christ and grew up a member of the Methodist church. She was a member of Getwell Church for many years. On March 26, 2016 she was confirmed and received into the Catholic Church and began attending Christ the King and Queen of Peace Catholic Churches. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ralph Hammond; son, Richard Ferrell (Misty); grandchildren, Luke and Lana Ferrell; sister, Janet Hinton (Mike); brother, Ronnie Cato (Traci); nieces: Lindsay, Lacey, Rachel, and Jennifer; and her fur babies, Maxwell and Maddi. A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Humane Society, St. Jude, or the National Cancer Institute in her honor.
