Calvin Ray Stewart, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Methodist University in Memphis, TN. He was born on January 19, 1940 to the Late Herman and Dean Stewart in Olive Branch, MS. Calvin served in the United States Army and spent two years in Germany during the Berlin Wall Crisis. He retired after 25 years at Sears and went on to work as a field agent at the DeSoto County Tax Assessor office where he also retired. Calvin enjoyed reading, history, and being outdoors. His greatest love and biggest priority in his life was his family. Calvin enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandson. He and his wife were also members of Cedarview Baptist Church. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Dean Stewart, and two brothers, George Stewart and Jerry Stewart. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joyce Maxine Stewart; daughter, Angela Hamilton (Keith); two grandchildren, Rachel Smith (Branden), Ryan Hamilton, and one great grandson, Gentry Smith. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 12:00pm with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Olive Branch, MS.
