Charles Herron Scates died peacefully on August 17, 2015. Mr. Scates was retired after 41 years as an Electrical Engineer for MLG&W. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine Smith Scates and daughter Doris Scates Roach. He is survived by his wife Ramah Sherrill Scates, daughters; Brenda Faulkner (Michael) and Patricia Thomas and 3 sons; Stefan Beck, Dusty Austin (Heather), and David Thomas, 3 grandchildren; Savannah Beck, Camron Beck and Jackson Austin.
He was a Mason at Beclair #774, Shriner at Al Chymia, Zaman Grotto, O.E.S. Woodlawn #74, Amaranth at Faith Court #15 and also a member of the Scottish Rite.
There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday August 22, 2015 at Brantley Funeral Home, Highway 305, Olive Branch, Mississippi with visitation from 5 - 7 PM and a Masonic Service at 7 PM followed by a brief service from Dr. David Van Zant. Family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in his name to the Transportation Fund of the Al Chymia Shrine.
