Dale Yvonne Starkey Covington

Dale Yvonne Starkey Covington, 70, originally of Pumpkin Center, LA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Mrs. Covington was born on November 10, 1951 in Hammond, LA. She was a graduate of Ponchatoula High School. She worked for many years in special needs education. In her free time, she enjoyed being outside, whether that be on the river or working in her flower beds. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Covington was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Albany, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; infant daughter, Victoria Ruby; parents, Ehlert and Era Starkey; and sister, Mevil Carrier. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Stout(John); daughter, Tonia Peterson(Brian); grandchildren: Katherine Sexton(Seth), John Benjamin Stout(Hallie), and Rebekah Stout; 3 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; two sisters, Gildra Mixon and Vesta Stewart; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Bethlehem Baptist Church (29350 S Montpelier Rd., Albany, LA 70711) on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 9-10 am with a memorial service to follow at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the benevolence fund at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
