Floyd Walker, 91, of Byhalia, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, January 31, and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, all at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Interment will follow in the Emory Independent Methodist Church Cemetery. Floyd was a member of Emory Independent Methodist Church, and he was an avid hunter and horseman. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Jossie Walker, and he is survived by his daughter, Barbara Fiveash (J.C.); his son, James Walker (Rosie); 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. The entire family extends special thanks to his granddaughter, Margie Thompson and her husband Jimmy, who lovingly cared for her grandfather over the past year.
