Gene Jones, 85, of Olive branch, MS went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 31, 2021. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Thelma Jones; and siblings: Henry Alan Jones, William Edward Jones, George Jones, Johnnie Langston, Cora Feathers, Marvin Jones, Andy Jones, and Chester Jones. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Peggy Lawson Jones; and brother Roy Jones (Linda). Mr. Jones served our country in the United States Army. He retired from Kellogg’s after many years of service. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and served the Lord faithfully at New Beginnings Baptist Church. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. He loved his family and they will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 12-2 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Olive Branch. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to New Beginnings Baptist Church.
