

Gerald Page Brent, 89, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on February 5, 2026. Mr. Brent was born on February 10, 1936, in Cocoa Beach, FL. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1960 with a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering, and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
He served our country honorably in the United States Navy for 20 years and retired at the rank of Commander (O-5). He served during the Vietnam Conflict, and was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat “V” as well as the Meritorious Service Metal, Air Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.
He was a member of several historical organizations that included the Sons of the American Revolution, the Jamestown Society, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Military Order of the Stars and Bars, General Society of the War of 1812, as well as being a 33rd Degree Master Mason in the Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Brent was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Southaven, MS where he was involved in lay leadership and Education for Ministry. He enjoyed golf, hunting, woodworking and frying fish or grilling for his family.
Along with his parents, T.N. and Vonelle Brent, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Wanda Ellis and Martha “Doodle” Pence. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sandy Sims Brent; his daughter, Elizabeth Brent Treadway (Keith); his grandsons, John Patrick Treadway (Marion) of Madison, MS and James Michael Treadway (Megan) of Charlotte, NC; and 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 9-10 am with a funeral service to begin at 10 am. Burial with military funeral honors will be at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg, MS on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Brent’s memory may be made to St Jude, Wounded Warrior Project, or a charity of your choice.
