

Born June 21, 1928 in Graysport, Mississippi, she later moved to Grenada, Missisippi and graduated from Grenada High School. She worked in Grenada until 1955 when she moved to Memphis. She married on June 17, 1957 at Bellevue Baptist Church.
Helen served as a USO Hostess during World War II. She worked for Allen Cooperidge Company, Clark Equipment Company, and Kemmons Wilson Construction Company. Once she had her family she actively participated in their school PTA and was a Fashion Consultant for Queen’s Way to Fashion. Helen also worked as Administrative Assistant and Office Manager for several companies before retiring from Lefebure Corporation in 1995. After retirement she was an Avon representative for over 20 years, worked with the DeSoto Shrine Club, volunteered at Longview’s Family Life Center, helped in Vacation Bible School, participated in Women’s Ministry and Bible Study, participated in the Senior Adult Choir, helped prepare the bulletins for Sunday services, and took numerous senior adult trips with her many friends at Longview. She cherished being able to participate in the activities of her grandchildren, including field trips, scouting events, school programs, band concerts, and football games. And most recently loved being Nana, rocking and snuggling with her great-grandchildren!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Keeton; parents, Henry Gaston & Rubye Williams; and brothers, James, John Edd, and Paul Williams.
Helen is survived by daughters, Karen (Marc) Sones of Olive Branch and Laura (David) George of Coldwater; step children, Jim (Elaine) Keeton and Kathy Keeton of Atlanta; 6 grandchildren, Matthew (Ambra) Sones of Southaven, Sarah (Hunter) Durham of Southaven, Andrew Sones of Olive Branch, Jessica O’Neel of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, James Keeton & Kimberly Keeton of Georgia; 6 great-grandchildren (Case, Harlie, Braxton, Christian, Kailyn,& Emma); and beloved companion Prissy, her Boston Terrier.
Visitation will be at Longview Heights Baptist Church, 4501 Goodman Road, Olive Branch, Mississippi on Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
Services to celebrate her life will be on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Longview Heights Baptist Church, followed by burial at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Gore Springs, Mississippi at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Longview Baptist Church Youth Missions.
