Rev. James Cox, 77, of Holly Springs, MS, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at his home. Rev. Cox was a retired United Methodist Minister and pastored many churches in North Mississippi. He was also a United States Navy Veteran. Rev. Cox was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Cox. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Delashmit, his children, Melody Staub, Kathy Mathis, Cindy Blackwell, Melissa Vance, James R. Cox, Jr. (Elena), Bud Cox, Jeff Cox (Trinh), and Matt Cox (Amy), as well as nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 12pm until the service begins at 2pm, all at Cockrum United Methodist Church, 4006 Hwy 305, Hernando, MS 38632. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
