

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 26, 2016 at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum Road, Olive Branch, MS 38654. Reverend David Thomas will be officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine United Methodist Church, which he was a member, located at 5053 Palestine Road, Coldwater, MS 38618. Friends may attend visitation from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Jimmy was born July 16, 1947 in Memphis, TN to Leroy G. (Barney) Walker and Daisy May (Miller) Walker. He graduated from Southside High School in Memphis, TN in 1966. On December 27, 1992 he married the former Nancy Hollomon Jordan in Coldwater, MS. Jimmy was the CEO at D & W Plating CO which was founded by his father and mother, Barney and Daisy Walker. He was a Master Mason of Unity Lodge #95 of Memphis, TN. As well as a member of the Al Chymia Shriners Oriental Band. He was an avid pilot, boat racer for Lazy Daisy, buying TN walking horses for his wife, and breeding grand-champion English Mastiffs at Lazy D Farms. His hobbies included cooking award-winning ribs, golfing, and volunteering on with the ACI Fire Department as Assistant Chief.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother (Charles Ray Walker). He has two sisters Janiece W. Kennon (Collierville, TN), and Elain W. Davis (Collierville, TN) in which he is survived.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Nancy Walker, his five children: Theresa Walker Story (Shane) of Coldwater, MS, Chris Walker (Shawn) of Bartlett, TN, Michael Walker (Angie) of Byhalia, MS, Brad Jordan (Leigh) of Coldwater, MS, and Leigh Jordan White (Chris) of Mountain Home, AR. Fourteen grandchildren, Matthew Walker, Ashlee Walker, Alex Jordan , Taylor Walker, Jacob White (Shantell), Jordan White, Ben Jordan, Emily Story, Ryan Walker, Ellie Bryson, Jackson Walker, Mabry Brodeur (Jon), Pete Nelson and Ryan Nelson (Shelby), and two great grandchildren Leeland Walker and Sadie Grace Nelson.
Anybody who ever met him knows that he had the biggest, most compassionate and most giving heart of anyone they have ever met. He took in a whole slew of children who came to know him as an adopted father and grandfather. He is revered by many as a mentor and teacher. He will be missed but his legacy lives beyond anyone that is present today.
