JOE GRAY PHILLIPS, 81, died July 4, 2011. He was co-owner of Phillips Gin Co and Thriftway Grocery Store in Olive Branch. Visitation will be Friday, July 8 from 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. at Brantley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Blocker Cemetery. He was a Navy veteran and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and Longview Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, H. Gene Phillips. He leaves his sister-in-law, Joyce Phillips; 4 nieces, Cathy Eason (Johnny), Cheryl Vanderburg (Robert), Patricia Puckett (Barry), and Pam Taylor (Mike), and 12 great-nieces and nephews.
