John Shugars

John Braden Shugars was born on September 7, 1943 and went to be with the Lord on July, 1 2020 peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Olive Branch Mississippi. The Family will have a Celebration of Life Memorial on July 4, 2020 10:00 a.m. at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.

John was born and raised in Washington DC before making his way through several states and finally settling in Olive Branch Mississippi, where he retired from Swift Trucking Company. His passion was being behind the wheel of his 18-wheeler seeing the world with his dog Penny. He had a big love for his family. His hobbies were collecting knives and listening to blue grass music.

John was preceded in death by: his father Robert I. Shugars, his mother Florence E. Hood, his Wife Virginia Dale Shugars and son John Robert Shugars (Butchy). He is survived by one sister: Kathleen Minton, Killeen TX. Four sons, three daughters, and one step daughter: Pete Shugars, Memphis, TN. Billy Shugars Memphis, TN. Aaron & Kim Shugars, Horn Lake, MS. Tim Shugars, Columbia, TN. Dorothy Shugars Hogan, Palestine, TX. Cynthia Kay & Jimmie Lee, Jackson, TN. Lisa & Larry Linville, Olive Branch, MS. Sandra & Randy Lambert, Indiana. Four nieces and nephews: Dotti Bolen, Kenny Arnold, Freddy Koss, and Terry Robertson. Seventeen grandchildren: Robert Shugars, Brittany Shugars, Bo Shugars. Cory Shugars, Steven Shugars. Trip Lee, John (Molly) Lee, Jesse Lee. Nick Hogan, Zack Hogan. Jake Shugars, TJ Shugars, Willie Shugars. Steven Linville, Adam (Katelyn) Linville, Bryan (Brandi) Linville, Brandi Callaway: Six step grandchildren and a gracious amount of great grandchildren.
