Julia Ann Vinson

Julia Ann Vinson, 84, of Southaven, MS went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2025. Judi was born on September 10, 1940 in Memphis, TN to the late John Erwin Shelby and Mary Erline (Gregory) Creekmur. She obtained her MBA in business and had a long career as an accountant. She worked as a Sr. VP for Allnet Communications in Chicago, IL and later was the owner of Tax Practice in Olympia, WA. Judi lived a full life in which she completed every item on her bucket list and made many lifelong friends along the way. She had a generous spirit in life as well as in death, bequeathing her favorite charities: St. Timothy Episcopal Church in Southaven, MS; St. Jude in Memphis, TN; and the Salvation Army. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved brother, James Earl Shelby. She is survived by her brother, Billy Lee Shelby (LaVada); sister, Mary Virginia Toman; sister-in-law, Joyce Shelby; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at St. Timothy Episcopal Church (8245 Getwell Rd., Southaven, MS 38672) on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her honor.
