

Kenneth Monroe Oakley, 66, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on February 5, 2025. Ken was born on October 13, 1958, in Memphis, TN to the late Charles Monroe Oakley and Dorothy Elywaine Oakley. He attended Hillcrest High School in Memphis. He worked as a salesman for Thortsen Magnetics. He was an avid disc golf player and has been playing for around 37 years. He has been a member of PDGA #7431 since 1992 and played in the professional world championship in 1994. Music was also one of his passions. He enjoyed playing guitar and even played in a band with his friends in his younger years. Ken loved sports and was a huge Memphis Tiger basketball and Kansas City Chiefs football fan. If either of those teams were playing, Ken was watching. He also enjoyed traveling and able to travel a lot with his work but also enjoyed trips with his family. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Sommer; and his brother, Rick Oakley. He is survived by his wife of almost 21 years, Leslie Walker Oakley; daughter, Brianna Oakley; stepson, Joshua Abston; sisters, Brenda Reeves and Sherry Bell (Robert); and 16 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 10am until 11 am with a memorial service to begin at 11:00 am.
