Lolita Canlas Brown, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 23, 2024. She was born on April 21, 1952 to Gervacio and Fortunata Canlas in Dua, Mabalacat, Pampanga. Lolita's presence illuminated the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A devout Catholic,She found solace and joy in the rituals of her faith, finding comfort in the embrace of the Lord.
Lolita's zest for life extended beyond the pews; she found delight and excitement in the vibrant lights and lively atmosphere of the casinos. From the penny slots to the high limit slots, she approached each game with a spirit of adventure, creating countless memories with family and friends.
Traveling was another passion that Lolita shared with her late husband, Eric. Together, they embarked on adventures near and far, exploring new destinations and creating cherished moments that would last a lifetime. Their bond was one of love and companionship, a testament to the enduring power of partnership.
But above all, Lolita's greatest joy came from the love she shared with her family and friends. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating a warm and welcoming home where laughter and love abounded. Her kindness and generosity touched the hearts of all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on those she left behind.
Though we mourn the loss of Lolita, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. May her memory be a source of solace and strength during this difficult time, and may she find eternal peace in the loving embrace of her heavenly Father.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Ladd Brown, Sr, and her sister, Pilar.
Lolita leaves behind two children, Eric Canlas Brown, Jr. (Ashley), and Jacquilou Marriott (Chris), and eight grandchildren: Lexi Brown, Tripp Brown, Cattrinna Winston, Robert J. Winston, Azsaih Winston, Jazsmine Winston, Emma Marriott, and Christopher Marriott.
A memorial service will be on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 12:00 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00 am at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will be at West Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd. Memphis, TN, on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 9:00 am.
