

Margaret lived a full and joyful life rooted in family, tradition, and simple pleasures. She had a deep love for fishing and could often be found enjoying time by the water alongside her beloved husband. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, where she created many fun memories over the years.
A true Southern woman at heart, Margaret was raised with strong values from her farm life upbringing, which she carried with her throughout her life. She was known for her warmth, her signature lipstick, and her unwavering love for her family.
Margaret found her greatest happiness in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow, play sports, and pursue their passions. She loved hearing all about their accomplishments and took immense pride in each of them.
She was affectionately known by her family as “MeMe” and “Boots,” names that reflected the love and closeness she shared with those around her. Weekends were special, often filled with her cherished fish fries, bringing family together for food, laughter, and connection.
In her quieter moments, Margaret enjoyed working on puzzle books and “find-a-word” games, always keeping her mind active and engaged. She also enjoyed watching sports on television with her beloved husband, a simple pleasure they shared together.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lester Murphy, her parents, Dora Clytee Brewer and Hugh Allen Brewer and her brother, Marvin “Pete” Brewer.
Margaret is survived by her son, Dexter Murphy (Debi), and her daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Thompson (Sam). She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Ashley Laughter (Ray), Patrick Murphy (Gina), Crystal Almeida (Joe), Alex Murphy, Kelsey Larios (Ludwin), and Eliana Murphy; her fourteen great-grandchildren: Oakley Canon(25)(Garrett), Taylor Laughter(22), Paige Murphy(17), Elijah Murphy(16), Leeset Larios(15), Asher Murphy(14), Paxon Murphy(13), Mia Murphy(11), Briana Almeida(10), Sadie Murphy(7), Camila Almeida(6), Kylee Larios(4), Jack Murphy(3), and Millie Murphy;(1) and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Margaret will be remembered for her strong spirit, her loving heart, and the countless memories she created with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness that will continue for generations.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery.
