Mary Lou Bennett, 91, of Southaven, MS went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2023. Mrs. Bennett was born on June 8, 1932 in Ripley, MS to the late Carnie and Mary Etta Davis. She attended Shady Grove High School in Ripley, MS where she graduated as Salutatorian in 1950. She worked for many years as a data processing specialist for Baber printing company. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, reading cookbooks, tending to her flowers and plants, cross stitching, crossword puzzles, and Sudoku. She also loved going on vacations to the beach. Mrs. Bennett was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Goodman Oaks Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Bennett; brother, Kenneth Davis; brother, Ruie Davis; sister, Bobbie Bennett; and brother, Jimmy Davis. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Bennett (Lisa); son, Scott Bennett (Christi); grandchildren: Warren Bennett (Tori), Cody Bennett, Ashley Turner (Brandon), Dallis Forsythe (Macy), Bradyn Bennett, and Tripp Hawkins; and great-grandchildren: Keegan Pass, Kaden Pass, Braedon Turner, Kingston Forsythe, and Marley Ray Hamilton. Mrs. Bennett loved her family very much and one of her greatest joys in life was being “Grandmama” to her grandchildren. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2023 from 11am-12pm with a funeral service to begin at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her honor.
