Miriam,
It was so good to see you! You haven't changed a bit! Your mother was one who was sincerely interested in what was going on in one's life.  She was so easy to talk to...and her wit!...well, she was very enjoyable, to say the least! She was someone we enjoyed being around.  Her friendship with my mother
meant so much to my Mom.  She will be thought of often. I'll always remember her mischevious smile and that little twinkle in her eye!

There are no words to explain how dear this little lady meant to me and to Roger.  Her beauty, elegance and great story telling were highlights of the Christmas phone calls over the past years.  I will truly miss her.  I am heartbroken for Miriam, Louise and the other brothers and sisters that I heard about but never got to meet. Words fail me in speaking of Louise Marr. Her unbelievable wit and charm were one of a kind. I will forever cherish the fond memories I have of my "Lulabelle." She was more than a co-worker to all of us at Brantley Funeral Home, she was our dear friend who made this old world a whole lot brighter. From telling us stories from the good old days to offering her age-old wonder horse to my son, Jeremiah, I will forever be impacted by the life she lived. We shared laughs and we shared tears and I am eternally grateful for being privileged to know her. I will miss our phone conversations and I will never walk through the door of Brantley Funeral Home and not remember her glowing presence greeting guests who were in the midst of heartbreak. I am a better person for knowing Louise and I thank you, Miriam, for sharing her with all of us. Our city will never be the same.

 The first thing I  thought about was that  your mother and my mother,  the 2 Mildreds were  rejoicing in  heaven with their husbands and all the original OB  friends. My mom was Mildred Lucille  and yours was  Mildred  Louise,  born 2 years  apart. Sweet sympathy from all the Curries.

Dear Miriam,
You and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers.  Your mother and my dear late mother, Marie Norsworthy Simmons, were lifelong friends starting in early childhood.  For me, having been fortunate to know your mother all of my life, I would tell you that she was not only an interesting individual, she was also genuinely interested in others and  had a rare combination of wit and  wisdom. 

As an example, I would like to share a few precious excerpts that your mother wrote in mom’s class autograph books almost 80 years ago!  I think these entries reflect that even as a young child, Louise was unique and destined to be one of a kind.

We will miss your Mom, “that little blue-eyed girl” and her adoring husband Jimmy.   We will forever remember them fondly.

Miriam, I am so sorry about your mom.  I cannot tell you how much she meant to me.  Having her as a dear friend and co-worker for 30+ years, we shared a lot and will always be some of my fondest memories.  She was unique in every way.  I could never have picked anyone that I had rather worked with for so long.  She just made work fun.  We will all miss her and you will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers during the difficult days ahead.  Frances Payne
