Nettie Sexton Raines, 72, of Olive Branch, MS passed away at midnight on Tuesday, January 5th. Nettie attended Meadow Brook Baptist church. As a child, she attended Oakhaven school. Nettie loved people, being around and helping people, above all other things. She used that love by helping people of all ages, from the youth group at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church, to starting two business in the early 80's and late 90's, both focusing on putting people to work, and to better themselves. She was an innovator by starting People Plus, which was the first food product demonstration company in the MidSouth, and was awarded the Small Business of the Year award from the Memphis Business Journal in 1993. She later started Value Force, which was a temporary service assisting people to find work. After retiring for a second time, she moved her love from people to animals and started a pet sitting service. She is survived by her husband, Alan W. Raines of 48 years, her son, Christopher A. Raines, her step daughter, Cathy Hutto, her step son, Jamie Raines, and her two grand children, Alanna Littles and Connor Hutto, and her only living brother, Randy Sexton. The family will receive friends and family, Saturday, January 9th at Brantley Funeral Home (6875 Cockrum Street) in Olive Branch, MS, starting at 10:00 am and the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. The service will be live streamed on Brantley Funeral Home's Facebook page. Those attending must wear masks, and respect social distancing while in the Brantley Funeral Home.
