

HERMAN BALDWIN, Beloved Pastor, 89, left for his heavenly home to be with his Lord March 16, 2015. He was born May 4, 1925 into the loving home of Pickett and Winnie Baldwin. He was a battle tested soldier in God’s Army who always had an encouraging word for those who were hurting. He was known in the church and community as a “humble and grateful” man who loved and served people. He was a loving husband and father, simply referred to by family and friends as Brother Herman, Daddy or “Papaw”. He served his Lord and family faithfully and tirelessly until God called him home. He was a talented gardener, craftsman, musician and songwriter who loved singing and playing music in worship to his savior. He was a man who lived a temporary life but left a “Lifetime Legacy”. “Tuff as nails” with a shepherd’s heart he preached the “Gospel of Christ” at Cedar View for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Alise Baldwin. He leaves behind his daughters: Brenda (Jim) Burkeen, Judy (Jay) Burdick, Regina (Johnny) Busby, Marilyn Harding, Melba (Larry) McCullar and Juanita (Randy) Lewis; 12 grandchildren: Tony, Virgil, Amanda, John Jr., Pamela, Michael, Kristy, Joshua, Clay, Emily, Shawna and Mark Jr. He also leaves 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 19, at Cedar View Church with burial to follow in Lebanon Cemetery.
