Patricia Louise McGee

PATRICIA L. McGEE, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2015 surrounded by her adoring family. Pat was born in December of 1944 to James E. Roberts, Sr. and Evelyn Montgomery Roberts in San Diego, CA, who preceded her in death. Pat was the Program Director for the Davis YMCA for over 30 years and is responsible for bringing the first Special Needs Water Program to that YMCA by swimming the Mississippi River from shore to shore in order to raise funds for a handicap lift for their indoor pool. She was also imperative in raising the funds for their outdoor pool renovation and was responsible for training many of the still dedicated YMCA Lifeguards across the country. Pat was also a fierce competition Tri-athlete who won many awards in her age group throughout the years. She retired in 2007 in order to spend time with her six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smith, Sterling McGee, Chase McGee, Montana Todd, Brody McGee and Grant Cornell, whom she loved dearly and devoted her life to. Patricia was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer in June of 2013 and was a brave warrior for the two years that she fought the disease. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bernard S. McGee, Jr.; her four children, Regina McGee Earnheart, Kevin McGee and his wife, Venesia, Bradley McGee and his wife, Debra , and Kym Erwin Cornell and her husband, Chris, as well as her brother, “Jimmy” E. Roberts, Jr. of Redding, CA. The family of Mrs. McGee will memorialize her and celebrate the full and blessed life she lived with a visitation for Saturday, September 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home or donations may be made in her honor to the Olive Branch YMCA, 8555 Goodman Rd., Olive Branch, MS 38654.
