Ralph Powell Lester, 100, of Byhalia, MS, passed from this life Sunday, May 22, 2016 in Byhalia, MS. He was born in Caycee, MS, September 29 1915 to the late Henry A. and Edna Powell Lester. Mr. Lester was a sharecropper, county road truck driver, substitute mail carrier and a member of Emory Independent Methodist Church. He is survived by a son and daughter in law; Milton R. and Brenda Lester. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Alice Lester and a granddaughter; Carolyn Denise Lester. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 8pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Brantley Funeral Home and at 10am, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Emory Independent Methodist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 11am at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
