Saranne Lorraine Emerson

Saranne Lorraine Emerson, 79, of Hernando, MS went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2026. Ms. Emerson was born on June 23, 1946, in Wheeling, WV to the late Brigadier Frank E. Osborne and Elizabeth Bunch Osborne. She retired from the United States Postal Service as a window clerk. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing. She also loved history and enjoyed doing genealogy work. Her love of history led her to become a member of UDC and DAR with which she previously held many offices. In her later years, she wrote a collection of life stories for her family to enjoy. She was a social butterfly and was always the life of the party. Ms. Emerson was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church in Olive Branch. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Emerson; her first husband and father of her children, Charles Vest; her companion, Billy Hopper; and a sister, Yvonne Campbell. She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Barnett (Clay); son, Frank Vest (Carrie); grandchildren: Lacey Barnett Webb (Jonathan), C.J. Barnett, Chris Vest (Laura), Landon Vest, Breanna Vest, and Emma Vest; great-grandchildren: Jon Taylor Webb, Wes Webb, and Rylee Webb; two sisters, Barbara Vest and Olivia Futral (Randy); 3 step-children and their families; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 12-2 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Gore Springs UMC Cemetery on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 am. The family requests any memorial donations in her honor be made to the Salvation Army.
