Shirley Ann Moore, 84, of Byhalia, MS went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2024 peacefully at her home surrounded by family. Shirley was born on May 27, 1940 in Ingrams Mill, MS to the late E.B. and Alicia Elizabeth St. John. Shirley attended Olive Branch High School where she played basketball up until her senior year then her family moved to Byhalia. She graduated from Byhalia High School in 1959. She worked as a quality control inspector for Alcoa until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hughey Moore; sister, Marilyn Hawthorne; brother, T.P. St. John; and brother, Danny St. John. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Demetria Vanzanten; son, Hughey B. Moore; daughter, Kim Armstrong; son, Darren Moore; grandchildren: Jamie Murphy, Hunter Armstrong, Chris Brents, and Rachel Bollman; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 12-1 pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Byhalia Cemetery.
