It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy Matthew Williams on Monday, January 19, 2026, surrounded by his family. Matt was the definition of putting family first. As a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, son, and brother, his family was always his greatest priority. Matt spent most of his time cherishing every moment with his grandchildren, whether he was teaching them, playing with them, or simply being their biggest supporter, they were the true light of his life. Outside of his family, he found true joy in his passion for being a chef, bringing people together through his cooking. Matt will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Tim Williams; his grandparents: Harold and Nell Elam, Brinkley and Ava Nell Williams, and his father-in-law, Willie Whitten. Matt leaves behind his wife and soulmate of 25 years, Linda Williams; his daughter, Erin O’Neal; his greatest joys in life, three grandchildren, Nolan, Myla, and Lane; his mother, Sharon Elam Williams; his mother-in-law, Gladys Whitten; his sister, Amellia Williams; his sister-in-law, Sharon Blackwell (Jim) and his brother-in-law, Ken Whitten. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Baptist Reynolds Hospice House for the loving care and comfort they provided to Matthew during his time there. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Matthew’s name to the American Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
