

MAURICE WALLACE, 71, died July 21, 2010 at his home. Born in Olive Branch, he was a 1957 graduate of Olive Branch High School. Maurice was serving his second term as Alderman in Olive Branch, and was retired from Firestone after 20 years. He also worked as a photographer for more than 35 years. He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason and member of Maples Memorial United Methodist Church. Maurice was a people person and he loved every opportunity to make new friends. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 23, and service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, July 24 at Brantley Funeral Home, Olive Branch. Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, James B. and Rosie Wallace, two brothers, Max Wallace and Hassel Wallace. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Annie Laurie Wallace; two sons, David Wallace (Lori) and Greg Wallace (Shay); three sisters, Melba Philen (James), Helen Patrick (Joe), and Peggy Williams (Bill); five brothers, Wayne Wallace (Fran), Billy Wallace (Carol), Johnny Wallace (Eleanor), Larry Wallace (Karen) and Tommy Wallace; four grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor, Haylie, Rebekah, and numerous nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
