William “Bill” Elkin Adams, Jr., 80, went home to our Lord and Savior May 25, 2023, at home in Southaven, MS. He was born November 20, 1942, to the Late William and Ruth Adams in Ferriday, LA. Bill lived and went to school in Shelby, MS. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959-1963. During this time he was stationed in Guantanamo Bay Cuba during the Cuba Missile Crisis. Bill attended William Carey College, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and Golden Gate Theological Seminary. He served the Lord by preaching and teaching His Word for over 30 years. In Bill’s late life, he worked in heating and air conditioning and retired from Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Adams, and a daughter, Bobbie Lynn Adams. Bill leaves behind his four daughters: Michelle DeRee Eilander, Kimberly Joyce Black, Robbie Jean Adams, and Margaret Ruth Adams-Millers; two sisters, Linda Hiter and Sandy Adams, and his first cousin and lifelong best friend, Gail Neil. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren: Ashlee, Jonathon, Victoria, Brandon, Monica, Adam, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn; 7 great grandchildren: Garett, Jaycee, Kolton, Macy, Maddox, Magnolia, and Levi. A memorial service for William will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum Street, Olive Branch, MS 38654.
