Alberta "Bert" Anne Nieland

Alberta "Bert" Anne Nieland, aged 93, was born in Austin, Minnesota on February 27, 1932 and passed away on October 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank and Anna Plzak; parents, Albert and Olive Skaran; and husband Dennis J. Nieland.

Bert especially loved her life on the farm where she and Dennis lived for years. She also truly loved her family and many friends that came into her life. She enjoyed telling stories of growing up and of living on the farm. She lived a good life, a long life...a full life.

She is survived by daughter, Anne Lollis and husband Michael; grandchildren, Hannah Lollis and Jayden Lollis; granddaughter, Heidi Gojkovich and husband Scott; great-granddaughters Hailey Gojkovich and Riley Gojkovich; granddaughter, Heather Miller and great-grandchildren Lucy Roth, Hudson Roth and Vivian Miller. Bert is also survived by her first cousins Marilyn Langsley of St. Paul, Minnesota and Alan Smith of Owatonna, Minnesota.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to all of Alberta's caregivers and hospice care providers that allowed her to remain content and comfortable in her home where she wanted to live her remaining days.

A visitation will be held at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska, 68106, on October 28, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 10:30 am.

Bert will be laid to rest at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street, Omaha.
