

She was born and raised in France to the late Pierre GEHL and Marguerite Jeanne FRITZ.
She later married the love of her life, Russell W. Hobson. To this marriage, they had three children, Thierry (Mary) Hobson, Jean-Pierre Hobson and Carole Hobson.
Later, Anne-Marie and the children moved from France to Wiesbaden Germany to join her husband at a new assignment.
From there, Anne-Marie and her family moved to Bellevue Nebraska, Okinawa Japan, and back to Bellevue Nebraska. Years later, she and her family moved to Stuttgart Germany. She had her last military move back to Bellevue, Nebraska. Anne-Marie was the true definition of a “Military Wife”.
She loved traveling to many other countries and islands throughout her lifetime.
Anne-Marie became an American Citizen in Brooklyn, New York in late 1969. She was very proud of this accomplishment .
Anne-Marie lived life in her unwavering faith and devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and church community.
She loved the Lord deeply and trusted him through every season of her life.
She was very active in church, many Bible studies, children’s programs and more importantly, helping her community, kids , grandkids and even babysitting her great grandkids whenever she was needed after retirement. She loved her family and always wanted help in any way she could.
Anne-Marie is survived by her three children; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Madeleine Ocepek; and numerous other extended family members in Europe.
Her faith carried her through life and now into eternal rest.
Visitation will be held at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106, on March 19, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on March 19, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
Final resting place will be at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
