Bruce William Greenwell, age 73, of Beatrice, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, in Bellevue, Nebraska. He was born on March 9, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Omaha North High School. He attended college at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where he met his future wife Ellen Rosenau, to whom he was happily married for over 52 years. Bruce was a dedicated high school band director, teaching first in Arkansas, and then in numerous Nebraska schools, including Hildreth, Diller, Odell, Lewiston, and Beatrice, where he taught for over 25 years. Bruce enjoyed serving the Lord with his musical talents, playing the organ in his local church for many years. He is survived by his wife Ellen; their four children, Max (Jennifer) Greenwell, Samuel (Jenny) Greenwell, Paul (Alicia) Greenwell, and Anne (Jarmon) Crowley, and 12 grandchildren, Molly, Zachary, Benjamin, Claire, Isaac, Ethan, Nathanael, Morgan, Ryan, June, Jasper, and Jax, and his sister Nancy (Reginald) Boyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alice Greenwell, and his brother George Greenwell.
A funeral service for Bruce will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
