Dana Dee Chase

Dana Dee was born in 1938 in Wauneta, Nebraska the daughter of Edgar R. Fanning and Ms. Winnfred L. Fanning. Dee married Robert L. Chase in 1956 and raised 5 daughters in Omaha, Nebraska. Her husband Robert (Bob) Chase passed away in 2008. Dee was a loving wife and mother. She was a caring and compassionate nurse for over 41 years. Dee had a strong and caring spirit and a generous nature. She was unforgettable to anyone who knew her.

Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Chase on April 25, 2008; her parents, Edgar Fanning on August 9, 1996 and Winnfred Fanning on July 14, 1950; sister, Sue Ann Fanning on November 24, 1946; brother, Joe E. Fanning on September 26, 2014; grandson, Matthew Edgar Chase on December 19, 2017; and granddaughter, Dana Dee Chase on December 9, 2004.

She is survived by her five daughters, Renee Chase-Hamlet, Brenda Brungardt, Cindy and Keith Colligan, Lori and Bill Applegate, and Danette and Richard Stiff; brothers, Jay and Jackie Fanning of Benkelman, NE and Jack and Linda Fanning of Wauneta, NE; sister, Karen Fanning-Johnson of Imperial, NE; grandchildren, Bryan Chase, Jeremy Brungardt, Sarah Applegate, Katie Reich, Seth Chase, Troy Chase, Trevor Roth, and Alex Roth; great grandchildren, Jessalyn Brungardt, Janessa Brungardt, Taylor Davis, Natalie Reich, Jackson Lucas, and Asher Matthew Chase; one great great grandchild, Leonardo Brent; and many family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska, 68106, on February 9, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same venue, beginning at 1:00 pm.

The final resting place will be Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, located at 5701 Center Street, Omaha.
