Edward is a former U.S Navy, Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class and served 2 years in Vietnam. He is also a retired Union member of the local iron worker Union and local Cement finishers union. He regularly gave to Child Relief Fund in providing aid to a young girl in Africa, which he was very proud of her growth and development. They exchanged letters regularly. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles C. and Gladys M. McCurry of Council Bluffs, IA. Survived by children, Antoinette Robinson and Edward L. McCurry Jr; brothers, Craig and Tony McCurry; sister, Sandy McCurry; nephew, Eric McCurry; cousin, Caroline Johnson; grandchildren and great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Child Relief Fund, Cancer Research or Wounded Warriors Project. Requiem Mass held Saturday, September 5, 1pm at Saint Barnabas Church, 129 N. 40th st.
