I just ran across Dr. Bowers business card cleaning my home office.  I am so saddened by learning he passed away 8 years ago today.  He was referred by my sons' Pedatrian.  He counseled both of my young sons who were struggling and heart broken over their stillborn sister's death.  Dr. Bowers was the right person at the right time for our family.  Without his guidance I am sure we would have been lost.  Both of our sons have excelled due to his guidance.  Both are Eagle Scouts, one a college graduate and one in college.  I am confident Dr. Bowers earned his wings helping our sons.  Bless you and your family for sharing such a wonderful man.  I just happened to be thinking about dropping him a card before discovering his business card.  I am amazed I discovered found his business card exact 8 years after his passing.  Hopefully his family will be able to see this.  JH

I stumbled on this website accidentally. Dr. Bowers was a cub scout leader of mine over 20 years ago along with Mrs. Julie and I remember what an excellent role model he was for all of us boys. He taught me how to tie a square not (which is the only one I remember!) and many other things about life. He was a Godly man who loved his family.

All of you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time of great sadness.
We knew the Bowers family before Frank met Julie, He was a fine caring young man. His parents Did a wonderful job raising   Frank and his siblings. 
Our world could use more families like the Bowers.

We were blessed to have known Frank. My whole family was touched by his (and your entire family's) graciousness, compassion, and hospitality. Despite that we had such different views of the world, I felt Frank accepted me for who I am, not who he wanted me to be. What a rare and wonderful quality in a human being! Frank & I had many interesting conversations, and I remember once asking him why he didn't try to proselytize me given we spent significant time together as he knew I was not a man of faith. After a failed attempt at a joke (he was no stand-up comic, though I think sometimes _he_ thought he was!), he told me, "Mike, I think the best way I can serve God and convert you is by living my life in a Christian manner." And boy, how did he! He has given me inspiration at various times in my life to be a better husband, a better father, and a better man. I will miss his friendship. Myself, Julie, Jessa, and Brody are all truly sorry about your loss.

On behalf of the University of Southern Mississippi School Psychology Program......I just heard the terrible news of Frank's passing. Frank entered our program in 1994 and did his internship at BoysTown '96-97 where he later worked for some years. He received his Ph.D. in December, 1997 from our program....did his dissertation under the direction of Bill Carlyon. Frank and I used to swap stories about drums and drumming (a love of both of ours). Frank was a really down-to-earth, easygoing guy. He will be missed.....our condolences and thoughts and prayers to his family.

Julie and family,

It is difficult to put into words what you and Frank have meant to us.  What great friends you have been!!  We will miss him immensely but we will always be there for you.  He was one of the most gentle and kind people we have ever met.  He has instilled this trait in his family and also the people whose lives he has touched. May his spirit always be with you all. He is already missed.

It is really hard to put into words the tremendous impact that Frank had in so many peoples lives, including my own.  Frank was one of my professors at Grace University and he inspired me to pursue my career path at Boys Town.  Thank you Frank for teaching me and so many others to love and care for the hurting.  You will forever be missed!

My condolences to the entire Bowers family.  Dr. Bowers was (and still is) a valued member of the Boys Town family and anyone who knew him truly understands the passion that he brought to his work each and every day.  I'm forever grateful to have known such a great man.

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Frank. I remember what a nice man he was. It has been many years since I have seen him or his family, but I can tell that he did not change. The Bowers family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Frank was a dear friend, full of grace.  He loved his wife and family and modeled what he believed.  Rest in peace Frank!

My condolences to Dr. Bowers' family, friends and co-workers.  He was a tremendous asset to the Boystown Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic & will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

With deep sympathy, my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Frank.  He was a great man, from whom I learned a lot in such the short time I had to know him.  I will always be grateful for Frank and the role he played in my professional and personal life.  Frank, until we meet again, may you now rest in eternal peace.

Frank will be among the bride's family when he celebrates this Easter worship with his Lord this Sunday - and he will be missed by his loving family and many, many friends.

As we anticipate celebrating Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate the joy Frank is now experiencing in the presence of His Risen Savior!! May this promise in Jesus give you peace as you grieve. I had the privilege to know Dr Bowers as a professor and as a musician. It was a joy and honor to work with him in the musical at Grace this past January.
