Preceded in death wife, Joanne (Skarda) Schaefer, and brother, Dale Schaefer.
Survived by daughters, Mary Jo Petersen and husband, Chuck, Leanne Denney and husband, Rick; son, Michael Schaefer; grandchildren, Jackie Ryba (Petersen) and husband, Andrew, Meredith Ehrenberg (Petersen) and husband, Joshua, Scott Petersen, Mark Petersen, Daniel Koborg and wife, Erin, Elizabeth Koborg; great grand children, Nick, Benjamin, Harrison, Hannah, Nathan, Delaney, Owen, Miles, Lauren, William and Clara.
Owned Schaefer Oil Company with his father, W.R. “Mike” Schaefer, from the 50’s until the late 60’s. During the 60’s, Lee was a commercial real estate developer in Omaha. He owned two national restaurant chains primarily in the Midwest and Hawaii, from 1969-1985. Lee enjoyed spending his time golfing, gardening, and yearly fishing trips to Canada with family and friends.
Visitation Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM at Crosby Colonial Chapel. Funeral Service Friday 11:00 AM at Lutheran Church of the Master East Campus, 2617 S. 114th Street. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
