Patricia Ethel (Prott) McWhorter born on January 29, 1923 in Sydney, Australia, passed away into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus on November 19, 2016. Known to her friends as Patti and to her family as Mimi, she leaves this earthly world blessed with her 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In 1947 she met the love of her life and husband Clarence (Mac) McWhorter,M.D., in the Philippines during WWII. True to her lifelong zeal for adventure she sailed off to American leaving behind her parents, Charles and Agnes Prott, her sister Elizabeth Bale and brother Wallace Prott on a three week ocean-liner journey to join Mac in America. Everyone who knew Patti was blessed to know someone with the most amazing zest for life. A strong woman who was always smiling and had an infectious giggle that could bring an entire bridge table to laughter. Some of her favorite pastimes included watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers, playing tennis and golf, finding a deal shopping and relaxing while reading a gripping novel. Patti loved entertaining people whether it was through her succulent cooking, singing Frank Sinatra at a piano bar, telling stories over a glass of wine or having friends to her home for one of her famous patio parties. Patti was an adoring and loving mother to her three children, Lynne, Dianne and Jim. Patti was a loyal friend to countless women throughout her life and loved her sons-in-law as her own. She was a dedicated grandmother and took her role as the family matriarch earnestly. In her later years her unwavering love and support to her grandchildren Roslyn, Natalie, Samantha, Elizabeth, Ashley and Scott became her life’s passion. She took them on trips around the world and never stopped teaching them life lessons through her eyes. And although the final years of Mimi’s life posed many trials, the loving moments she shared with her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, James, Kenley, Charlie and Evelyn were precious and kept her spirit going. Patti will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Mac in 1988. Patti is survived by her two loving daughters, Lynne (John) Stark of Overland Park, KS, Dianne (Tom) Honig of Littleton, CO, and her adoring son, James McWhorter of Omaha.
