Rita Joyce Ray

Rita Joyce Ray was born February 12, 1937 in Blair Nebraska. Her parents were Victor and Ada KIng. She had one sister Lyla KIng. She married the love of her life Lee Ray on April 28, 1957. They had 5 children. Jane, Todd, the twins Kelly and Kevin & Jim. Rita graduated from Capital Beauty school on May 26, 1955 and began her career as a beautician at the downtown Brandies Salon and then worked at a couple beauty shops in Blair. She spent the last 37 years of her career running her own beauty shop at Good Samaritan Nursing home. She retired in 2009.

Rita loved to cook and loved her family. She prepared a big meal every Sunday after church and so enjoyed having all her children and grandchildren around her.

She is preceded in death by her son Todd and daughter n law Donna, her husband Lee, her sister Lyla and her parents Victor and Ada

She is survived by her daughter Jane Ray (grandson-Kyle (Katie)), grandson Matthew (Samantha) Ray-great grandchildren Mehina & Elia, son Kelly (Deborah) Ray, grandsons Daniel, Owen & Benjamin, son Kevin (Tammy), grandchildren Joshua (Elisha) -great grandchildren Hazel, Charlie, Logan & Jackson, grandchildren Sara & Caleb, Son Jim(Laura) grandchildren Nathan, Carleigh and many nieces and nephews,

There will be a private graveside ceremony at the Omaha National Cemetery on March 21st at 1230 with a Celebration of Life Open House at Martinique Apartments Party room 9315 Western Ave from 200pm-600pm. Come for a late lunch or early dinner.
