Robert Pernell Young II, age 35, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025. On January 20,1990, Robert was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Charline Grant and Robert Perrell Young I. He graduated from North High School.
Robert was good-hearted, an advocate for the underdog, and he was always interested in working with his hands. Over the course of his life, Rob was blessed to learn a number of hands on skills such as mechanical work, carpentry skills, and commercial machine and vehicle operations. In other words, Robert was often referred to as a Jack of all trades.
Robert was the true definition of a team player; there was nothing he wouldn’t do to help out. The needs of his family were always first. Robert was that one person that you could depend on, whether you needed help moving, work done to your vehicle, repairs to your home, simply needing the barbeque guy to help out at a number of family functions, or just a true friend to listen without judging during trying times.
In September of 2018, Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park & Funeral Home gave Robert his first job. Robert was very proud and he was glowing ever since. Robert loved going to work everyday. He loved working with all the people there. Charline Grant, the mother of Robert Young II, would like to thank the staff of Westlawn-Hillcrest for giving Robert his first job and all of their support.
When Robert walked in any room, everyone was drawn to him. He had a big personality. He loved playing games, changing rules, or making up a game. Robert could make even a boring game fun. He also loved going to the casino. He was passionate about cars and liked driving really fast.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis and Cleo Grant, and W.C. and Earlene Young; and uncle, Bernard Grant.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Charline Grant (Curtis); his father, Robert Pernell Young I (Tina); his grandmother, Earnestine Young; his aunt, Carla Grant; sister, Delicia Wallace; brother, Robinson Young; four nieces, Kiarra, Khaliyah, Karma, and Ivy Aunna; nephew, Quinton Ebo; his favorite cousin, Chantierra Grant and her daughter, Chloe; best friends Homer and Tre Bush; and many other extended family and friends.
Please join us in celebrating Rob's life with a visitation on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
