Age 71
Sandra passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2014, with her husband of 50 years, Ken, by her side. She attended Omaha Benson High School and graduated from Univ. Nebraska Omaha with a degree in home economics. She enjoyed her career in home economics and home decorating. Spending time at the cabin on the lake with family, hosting parties, and relaxing with Ken on the deck in the backyard overlooking her garden were her happiest moments. She was a wonderful wife, devoted mother to Wendy and Michelle (husband John Day), and loving grandmother to Ben and Noah. She will also be missed by her sister, Julie Wood and her husband Alan, plus nephews, Jon Scott and Eric, and their families.
A service will be held to celebrate Sandra's amazing life on Saturday, February 15, at 10:30am at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, 2650 Farnam St., Omaha, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wendy Cooper Memorial Scholarship through the Omaha Education Association or Lauritzen Gardens.
