

Thomas Lee Cason, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on February 27, 2025 in Omaha, NE. Tom was born October 9, 1947, in Genoa, NE to the late George and Dorene Cason.
He graduated from Omaha South High School in 1965. After high school, Tom spent time in the Army, serving in Vietnam. He then decided to settle down in South Omaha. He married Carolyn "Cookie" Cason and together they had 2 children. He was a devoted father to Shelby Brandt (Jason) and Eric Cason (Jamie), and a proud grandfather to Xandria Gregory, McColley McCall (Travon), Colton Cason and Connor Cason, as well as his grandpuppies Peggy and Beans, great grandpuppies Bruce and Scar, and great grandkitty Turkey. You could often find Tom cheering on his loved ones at their dance competitions, cross-country races, and baseball games. He always said life was about the quality, not the quantity, and he chose to live his life to the fullest.
Following his military service, Tom worked for OPPD as part of the construction crew, before taking an equipment operator position and retiring in 2003.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, sister Jane Jenson, and Uncle Dean Curtis (Mila). He is preceded in death by his parents, wives Carolyn McColley, Linda Junkin, and Judie Williams, and Uncles Richard, Gerald, and Russell Curtis.
Tom will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Monday, March 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Thomas will be laid to rest in Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
