

Preceded in death by mother, Mary Jane Hendricks, survived by uncle, Fred Hendricks (Mary) and many cousins. Tim graduated from Omaha South high In 1964. He competed in many cross country races and marathons, earning 2 all state awards. He graduated from Peru State College in 1974 where he competed in marathons and cross country with his team finishing third at the NAIA National Championships in 1965.
In 1966 Tim won the Conference Champion Individual NCC and the Junior National Champion Individual Marathon. His teams won the Team Championship in NCC in 1966,1967 and 1968.
Tim joined the Navy in January of 1969 with honorable discharge in November 1970.
While in the navy he placed fifth in the Senior National Championships Marathon in 1970, and was a member of the United States Cross Country Team which competed for the World Cross Country Championship in Vichy, France and finished fifth. The team also competed in Germany, Belgium, England, Austria and Denmark. In 1972, Tim qualified and competed in the 1972 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials. He finished second in the 1976 Marathon at the US Track and Field Championships.
Tim earned his Masters in Exercise physiology from UNO In 1987 where he went on to be the head coach for the women’s cross-country and track teams. He held that position until retiring in 2006. During his career at UNO the women’s team won National Championships five times, 129 were named All-Americans and one athlete was named 2005 Female Athlete of the Year. He was named Conference Coach of the Year in 1985, 1996, 2001, 2003 and 2004, and received the Distinguished Service Award in 2001. Tim coached 14 of the top 20 teams for indoor track and field, with eight finishing in the top 20 for outdoor track and field. His teams broke all indoor and outdoor school records during his tenure.
Tim was inducted to the Omaha Running Club Hall of Fame in 2006 and The Peru State College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
In 2013 he was inducted into the Omaha South High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Tim passed away peacefully on 9/14/24 at The Josie Harper Hospice House. Burial and Grave side service October 25th at 1:30. Reception following at Westlawn Hillcrest funeral home.
