Ward received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University, 1949, Tau Beta Pi. He also received a B.A. at the University of Omaha, 1957, and attained the rank of Lieutenant J.G. in the U.S. Navy, 1945. He and his brother, David A. Baxter, Jr., headed Baxter Electric Company, which was founded by their father, David A. Baxter, in 1932. He was preceded in death by his wife Trudy, born in Germany, a U.S. Navy Wave cartographer, and wife Ruth. Survived by brother David A. Baxter, Jr.; children Ward, Trudy, Gail, and Steven, all with families and are successful; grandchildren Ethan, Ryan, Matthias (deceased), Emilie, Aspen, Jerry, Alex, Robert, Matthew, and Eric; great grandchildren Katie, Jonathan, Evan, Andrew, Zahra, Ali, Norah, Hanan, Layla; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Hospital Cancer Center.
VISITATION Sunday September 26, 2010 from 5-7pm at Crosby Colonial Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICE Monday September 27, 2010 at 10am at Crosby Colonial Chapel. Interment will be at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. CROSBY BURKET
