Known to her family as Harriet and to her friends as Amy, she was deeply loved by all who knew her. Amy worked for 25 years at Hannaford, where she was admired for her strong work ethic and her willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. She was kind and loving, with a vibrant personality and a strong protective heart for those she cared about. Her family often described her as having a little extra spark — full of warmth, strength, and heart.
Amy was baptized at Main Street Baptist Church, where she enjoyed the close friendships she formed with many of the special ladies there. She will be remembered for her warm smile and hearty laugh that lit up a room.
Family was everything to Amy. She shared an especially close bond with her daughter, Tina Wheeler, and had a deep appreciation for the loving home she found with Tina and her son-in-law, Jim, where she spent the past ten years after the passing of her beloved husband, Fritz. Amy was a proud grandmother to Angelica Wheeler, Josiah Wheeler, and Ariel Mayo and her husband, Jordin, and a loving great-grandmother, known to them as "Nana," to Jace and Skyla Mayo, who were her greatest joy.
Amy is also survived by her siblings Faith Birnbaum (husband Richie), John DeMorest, and Lori Connolly (husband Steve) along with many nieces and nephews who affectionately knew her as "Aunt Harriet." She was predeceased by her brother, James DeMorest.
Amy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fritz Brockner. Together, they enjoyed motorcycle rides, playing & singing country music, sometimes with a band, and many happy memories by the water.
She also shared a special bond with Penny, Rose, Brian, and Tammy, who lovingly called her “Mom.” Her love, laughter, and fiercely caring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
