He was born February 28, 1928 in Hartwick the son of the late Smith J. and Rose S. (Rhyde) Shepard.
Dean proudly served his country in the US Air Force during WWII and also during the Korean Conflict.
Following being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Dean began working as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Hartwick until his retirement. While working, he also helped his friend, Bob Sellick with his excavating business.
Dean enjoyed going to Jackie’s Restaurant in Milford and helping out with whatever needed to be done. He always loved going up and helping out the girls. When he was at home, Dean loved to read books.
Dean was cremated and his ashes will be interred in the Fly Creek Valley Cemetery.
