He was born on May 26, 1948 in Oneonta, the son of the late Albert D. Knapp and Helen Knapp-Sander.
Donald is survived by his brother, Albert Knapp Jr. (Patricia); and sisters, Lori Knapp Winne (Roger), Marie Sebastian (Don), and Bethany Sander.
He was predeceased by his parents, an infant brother, Richard Knapp, and his grandmother, Hazel Knapp.
Donald was employed by the D&H Railroad for 27 years until his retirement.
He had a passion for motorcycles. In his free time you would find him riding his Honda Gold Wing. His knowledge of all things car or motorcycle was immense.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta, New York 13820.
In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to Helios Care, 297 River Street Service Rd, Oneonta, NY 13820.
