Doris was born on July 19, 1921 in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Rifenbark) Rose. She was married to William E. Webster, who predeceased her in June of 1944.
She was a graduate of Otego High School. Doris was a cashier in the Victory Supermarket chain for many years. She then became employed by the Grand Union Supermarket in Oneonta until her retirement. In her spare time, Doris was an avid golfer.
Doris is survived by her son, William E. Webster of Zephyrhills, Florida; her granddaughter, Erika Bowman and her husband, Mike of Niskayuna, New York; her grandson, Wade Webster and his wife, Lisa of Wyoming, Minnesota and 4 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband and her two brothers, Russell Rose and Daniel Rose.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta, with the Rev. Mel Farmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Doris’ family asks that donations be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
