Dorothy Ann Norton

7 octubre , 195925 marzo , 2021

OTEGO - Dorothy Norton, 61, of Otego, passed away peacefully in the company of family and friends, on March 25, 2021, in Rochester Hospital. Dorothy was born in Dania, Florida, in 1959 and spent her childhood and her adult life in Oneonta and Otego. She worked for Astrocom Electronics for nine years then for Custom Electronics for 25+ years. She was a dedicated, hard-working woman! Dorothy was predeceased by her father, Karlton MacIntyre; brother, Richard MacIntyre; and niece, TyeAnn MacIntyre. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Randy Norton; her two sons, Kevin Norton and Chip Norton, daughter-in-law, Kelly Boughton; two grandsons, Justin Norton and Mason Norton; five sisters, Karla Guy, Karolee Loveland and husband, Mark Loveland, JoAnn Goodrich, Betty Shaw and husband, Ken Shaw and Ruthie MacIntyre; and brother, David MacIntyre and wife, Barb MacIntyre. Dorothy is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her very beautiful mother, Edith MacIntyre. Dorothy was a beautiful soul inside and out. She was very much in love with her husband, Randy. They started dating when Dorothy was 14 years old and they had been married for almost 30 years. Randy was her best friend and soulmate. They made a lifetime of memories together and he will miss her deeply every single day. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her best friends the "Honeybees" Janice Combs, Jackie Johnson and Kathy Palmatier. Best friends for years, they went on many adventures and spent a lot of time together on their vacations and day trips. Dorothy also enjoyed every moment she had with her grandsons, Justin and Mason Norton. They were a great joy in her life. She always called them Nana's boys. Dorothy loved to host and participate in many gatherings bringing people together. She was the Queen of planning our large family and friends events. Dorothy enjoyed attending Chinese auctions, playing bingo, going on road trips to the casino with her partner in crime, Kelly Boughton and son, Kevin Norton. She loved planting flowers, spending time with her dogs, Holly and Roxy, and overall, just enjoyed life. Dorothy was one of the most caring, kind-hearted people you could meet. With her passing, we have lost someone so beautiful and so important. Life as we know it will never be the same without her. We will cherish many laughs and memories that she has touched us with. A celebration of life will be hosted this summer for friends and family to gather to remember the joys we had with Dorothy. Arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta. I was shocked and saddened to see that Dorothy had passed away. I worked with her for many years at CEI. I don't recall a more fun loving person. Always quick with a colorful comment and an infectious laugh. My heart goes out to each of you, especially Kelly who thought the world of Dorothy.

She was a good person!
