Frances M. Pearson

Fran was born March 16, 1940, to Martin and Stasia (Piaskoski) Voll of Brooklyn, New York.

She married George A. Pearson April 27, 1963, and they lived in Oneonta, New York. In January 2022 they reluctantly left their home on Shepherd Ave and moved to Bishops Commons (enriched living) in Oswego. They moved in with Chris and John in March 2023.

She is survived by her husband George; two daughters Jennifer (David) Flynn of Oneonta and Christina (John) Hansen of Fulton; son Gregory (Katherine) Pearson of Clifton Park; grandchildren Emily (Eric and daughter Peyton) Harrelson, Joshua Flynn, Nicole Hansen (Jacob), Raiden Hansen, Stephen Hansen (Liz and their two children), Bradley Pearson (Josiane), and Elizabeth Pearson; dear cousin Elizabeth Eisengrein; brother-in-law Victor Pearson; sisters-in-law Lois, Betty, and Barbara Pearson, and Marilyn (Pearson) DeMorier; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Fran was predeceased by her parents; brother Martin Voll; parents-in-law Pear and Arlene Pearson; brothers-in-law Robert, Richard, Urban, and Eddie Pearson; sisters-in-law Cathy and Faye Pearson; and dear friend Florence Barrett.

Fran graduated from SS. Cyril & Methodius Parochial School and All Saints Commercial District High School (1957). She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Oneonta.

Fran worked as a secretary both in NYC before marriage, and then for many years at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta. She volunteered with A.O. Fox Auxiliary and was a member of the Oneonta Federated Garden Club. She did some college courses at Pace University and SUNY Oneonta because she was a good student and enjoyed school.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, flowers, doing arts and crafts (especially with friends), movies, cooking shows, and travelling. Her favorite trips with George were to Las Vegas, England, and Switzerland. She vacationed often at Ridin-Hy dude ranch in Warrensburg- with her parents and cousins, then with her husband and children. She spoke most fondly of her pet dogs Mitzi and Daisy.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Christopher Welch, St. Mary's Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frances may be made to your favorite animal shelter.
